Saraswati is the daughter of Shiva and Goddess Durga. Goddess Saraswati bestows the ability of speech, wisdom and skills of learning.
She has four hands, which represent four human characteristics in learning: Mind – intellect – consciousness and ego.
She holds a lotus in one hand and scriptures in the other, symbolizing true knowledge and wisdom.
With her other two hands, she plays the music of love and life with a stringed instrument called “Vinna”.
