Description
Kali is the goddess of death and destruction in Hinduism
who nowadays everyone considers her the goddess of time and transformation.
She was ruthless and fearless in killing demons.
At the request of the gods, Kali came to the battlefield to kill the Raktavijas (demons).
Every drop of blood that fell from Raktavija on the ground became another Raktavija.
Soon the plain was filled with demons. But she crushed them all,
But so that their blood does not fall on the ground, when she cuts off their heads,
She sucked their blood to the last drop. Because of all this violence, Kali became insane with brutality.
She danced and laughed on the corpses that had fallen in the desert.
As a result of this madness, she wanted to destroy the whole world. At this time, the gods were anxious and worried about her bloodshed.
They went to her husband (Shiva) that may he can stop her Shiva threw himself among the corpses
at Kali’s feet. But Kali, in her madness, did not recognize him and stepped on him.
But at this moment, suddenly seeing Shiva under her feet, she came to her senses and felt ashamed
and she gave up her intention. Kali’s protruding tongue is a symbol of shame (common body language in India).
