Southern hemisphere backdrop

Description

Southern constellations are the classic map of the southern sky

that depicts on the globe over South America, South Africa

and shows Antarctica as Terra Australis Incognita.

Lower corners depicts astronomers who are observing the sky

and the upper corners show grotesque winged creatures.

was first published by J. Janssonius in 1660 and reprinted

by Schenk and Valk in 1708.
